Not long ago I blogged about the ducks that took up residence in our pool.  Shortly thereafter my wife found an egg at the bottom of the pool.  Apparently their nest was not far from the pool (probably hidden in the bushes) because this morning I went out and saw mamma duck with her ducklings.  In the pool of course.

I did a blog in the past about being a minimalist and posted a pic of my RV which my refers to as a coffin. I LOVE IT! She has NEVER gone out with me in it and despises it in every respect. She believes that after 30 years of marriage she deserves better and while I cant argue with her there I can say that ITS PAID FOR. I cant afford a the kind of RV I would really like, but if I could it would likely be something along the lines of the more artsy airstream: less space, more class (at least imo).

So, beginning today I will commence injecting some of the green living concepts that intrigue me. I LOVE the buildings created by Cal Earth (pictured above). Please visit their website and browse their photo gallery.

When I add that last line many people remark, oh really, which 15? To which I reply , it really doesnt matter, I’ve just been happy half the time.

Ok, so maybe that’s an exaggeration but the truth is there is no such thing as a perfect marriage.

Today happens to be Holy Tuesday – the day which we remember Christ as the Bridegroom.

My priest reminds me that this icon of Christ as the Bridegroom shows us what it means to be married. We become suffering servants.

The other day we had a couple of visitors in our front yard: two ducks, male and female.  One of my sons went out and gave them some bread. My wife said dont do that we wont be able to get rid of them and they’ll poop all over.

I thought they looked pretty cute waddling around on our front lawn so I went inside and grabbed my camera and got this shot of them.

Fast Forward to the next day and who happens to return, this time not in our front yard but our backyard, our two new friends.  So I grabbed my camera and went out to take some more pictures and they waddle away from me and plop into the pool.

My wife was right about the poop;  they are pretty messy – but you gotta admit they are heck-a-cute!  Well,  I did manage to shoo them away but they  came  back again later in the day.  Then they were back again first thing this morning.  I just went outside with a flashlight a little while ago and checked and sure enough they were both out there floating in the middle of the pool. Not sure what we’re gonna do ??????

I don’t want to justify my not wearing green on St. Patrick’s day but – in case you haven’t noticed – I happen to have a pure Irish last name: McAtee. Not to be confused in anyway with meaning that I’m a purebred Paddy; far from it, too many bitches have hopped the fence. But I was thinking — on this day if everybody who isn’t Irish wears green then everyone will know who IS Irish. Ok, maybe that won’t work. I’ll try to find something green.
