I have had serious issues with the air quality in Fresno. Somedays its really BAD. Today’s Fresno Bee had an article saying that valley air officials want to increase the number of days that we can’t burn wood on during the peak season – November to the end of February. I’m all for it. I, for one, love to have a fire. We have TWO woodburning fireplaces. But, I also love clean air.
The artice states “The bans, which began five years ago, have been a major reason that the region achieved the federal standard for coarse specks of pollution, called PM-10, such as soot and ash from fireplaces…” IOW – it’s getting better!
I took these pictures of the Fresno sky two days ago (Saturday).
